I build things that matter.Specializing in iOS and Android development, I've been building mobile apps since 2011 (check out what I've worked on below!). And I've been writing code since my first Computer Science course in high school in 2004! I love to identify problems and build apps to solve them - from providing amazing guest experiences at weddings to increasing safety at universities to connecting homeowners with home services pros to allowing customers to manage their finances, I've built experiences that cut across a large variety of industries and customer-bases.
I have experience working on small and large teams, in R&D environments, startups, enterprise, and big tech. I've supported both the public and private sector, including highly regulated industries. Most recently, I joined Meta, supporting a team focused on privacy infra for the Facebook mobile app. You can learn more about my career journey here. Until 2020 when my wife and I started our family, I often had a side project through Tysons Apps - a company we started back in 2012. These days, raising my two daughters consumes that spare time! Whatever the challenge, I can adapt and make a big impact. I've spent much of my career making contributions as a software engineer writing code day-to-day, and I'm now focused on technical people management. It's been an amazing experience to build and grow the next generation of engineering talent! |
I build the next generation of app developers. For 6 years, I taught Mobile App Development to undergraduate and graduate students at George Washington University. Half the semester was spent teaching Android using Kotlin, the other half teaching iOS using Swift. Nothing beats seeing students grasp concepts and grow over the course of a semester. Many of my former students have earned full-time app development jobs across the country!

I build an understanding of what's next.
Virtual & Augmented RealityWith the release of the Meta Quest headsets, VR is becoming mainstream and will enable experiences like virtual tourism and immersive gaming to the masses.
While mainstream, affordable AR wearable hardware is still far away, I'm excited for the tremendous potential that awaits! |
Generative AIWe are just scraping the surface, but the potential here is nearly limitless. The key will be ensuring that we understand this tech's limitations, provide transparency on AI generated content, and create safeguards to reduce its potential for harm.
(yes, those headshots are AI generated!) |
ML & Clean EnergyWith advances in battery tech and machine learning and reductions in cost, self-driving electric vehicles and solar are a must to protect the environment and improve human safety. I love Tesla's mission and everything they are doing in this space!
Babies born today most likely will never drive (well, maybe they will in VR just for fun!). |
